2027 Internship – German language expert / translation specialist – ZH

Join UBS, a worldwide wealth manager and universal bank headquartered in Zurich, as part of its Group Technology division. The internship focuses on German‑language expertise within the software localisation team that supports UBS Digital Banking, helping to make complex financial services clear and approachable for users across many markets. During the six‑month paid placement you will produce and refine user‑facing content in both German and English. Core tasks include turning English copy into natural‑sounding German, maintaining a consistent voice and terminology across digital channels, and writing inclusive text such as alternative descriptions. You will work hand‑in‑hand with UX writers, designers, engineers and localisation specialists, and you will experiment with AI‑driven tools to speed up creation, edit AI output, and suggest workflow improvements. The ideal candidate has already finished at least four semesters of a bachelor's or master's programme and graduated no more than half a year ago. A Swiss‑style GPA of 4.5 or higher is required. Fluency in German as a native language and a high level of English are mandatory. The role also demands proven experience in localisation and a solid grasp of UX/UI principles, as well as familiarity with computer‑assisted translation software and AI‑enhanced language platforms. Strong communication abilities, strategic thinking, and the capacity to meet tight deadlines are essential, together with a meticulous eye for detail and a collaborative mindset. Additional assets that would strengthen an application include knowledge of other languages such as French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese or Chinese, and any background in accessible writing. An interest in managing multilingual terminology databases, basic programming skills, and a proactive attitude toward testing new ideas are welcomed.
