The Senior Fire & Life Safety Engineer role at STACK Infrastructure focuses on ensuring the safety and compliance of Fire and Life Safety systems across their EMEA data centre portfolio. STACK Infrastructure specializes in designing, developing, and operating sustainable global digital infrastructure, supporting some of the world's most innovative companies. The main day-to-day responsibilities include providing technical leadership and expert guidance on Fire and Life Safety systems. This involves developing and maintaining standards, specifications, and operational policies. The role also includes reviewing designs, technical submissions, and commissioning documentation, as well as conducting technical assurance reviews and site audits. Additionally, the engineer will develop and improve maintenance requirements and operational procedures, and provide technical support during incidents and HSE events. To qualify for this role, candidates must have extensive experience in Fire and Life Safety engineering within mission-critical environments, particularly data centres. This experience should span design, construction, commissioning, operations, or technical assurance. Advanced knowledge of Fire and Life Safety design and implementation, including fire detection and suppression systems, is essential. A strong understanding of mission-critical operations and relevant European Fire and Life Safety codes and standards, such as NFPA 72, EN 13501, and EN 50600, is also required. Candidates should have a degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent in Fire and Life Safety Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience. Professional accreditation or chartership is desirable. Nice-to-have skills include experience across multiple European markets and the ability to travel across the EMEA portfolio as required. What the role asks for: - Extensive experience in Fire and Life Safety engineering within mission-critical environments, ideally data centres, spanning design, construction, commissioning, operations or technical assurance. - Advanced knowledge of Fire and Life Safety design and implementation, including fire detection and water- and gas-based suppression systems. - Strong understanding of mission-critical operations and how Fire and Life Safety systems interface with electrical, mechanical, controls and building systems. - Experience across design review, commissioning, operational acceptance and technical assurance, including site audits and risk assessment within critical environments. - Strong working knowledge of relevant European Fire and Life Safety codes and standards, including NFPA 72, EN 13501, EN 50600 and applicable national regulations. - Degree, HND/HNC or equivalent in Fire and Life Safety Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience. - Strong written and verbal English language skills.
