Laelaps AI is a company focused on developing intelligent software for physical security, leveraging advancements in AI, cloud computing, and hardware. The company aims to create a safer, more secure world by enabling robots and sensors to handle critical tasks that humans shouldn't have to. The role of a Software Engineer, Infrastructure, is pivotal in building the cloud platform that connects the robot fleet to operator intelligence. The main day-to-day responsibilities include managing cloud infrastructure, setting up deployment pipelines, ensuring secure networking, and overseeing container orchestration. The engineer will also handle CI/CD processes, edge fleet management, and observability. Additionally, the role involves enhancing developer experience by creating local environments and internal tooling. Security and compliance are also key aspects, ensuring that deployments are hardened and compliant with enterprise and government standards. To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least four years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles. Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and strong knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi are essential. Solid networking and security fundamentals, including VPNs, TLS, and certificate management, are also required. Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, and the ability to write code in Python or Go, are crucial. A track record of building developer-facing platforms is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include experience deploying software to edge devices or robot fleets, familiarity with on-prem or air-gapped environments, and a background in security-sensitive sectors like enterprise, defense, fintech, or healthcare. Knowledge of observability stacks and experience supporting ML workloads are also beneficial. The role is based in Zurich, offering a collaborative team environment with PhD-level co-founders in AI, Robotics, and Physics. The company provides a competitive equity/salary package and a culture that is both serious about building and fun. What the role asks for: - 4+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles. - Deep experience with at least one major cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Strong with Kubernetes (including lightweight distributions like K3s) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi). - Solid networking and security fundamentals: VPNs, TLS, certificate and PKI management, firewalls. - Solid CI/CD chops: GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar. - Comfortable writing code in Python, Go, or similar systems languages. - Nice to have: Experience deploying software to edge devices or robot fleets (OTA, A/B updates, rollback).
