Destinus is a defense‑focused aerospace company that builds advanced unmanned aerial vehicles for government and military customers worldwide. As a Senior Propulsion Engineer you will own the design and development of rocket motors and related pyrotechnic components, guiding them from early concept through to full certification while meeting demanding customer performance goals. Your daily work will involve creating and refining motor designs, performing detailed data and performance analyses, and producing technical reports, qualification matrices, and compliance documentation that follow military and aerospace standards. You will also build and improve software tools for motor analysis, assist in the development of thermal‑protection‑system and nozzle sizing utilities, and help prepare designs for qualification under MIL‑STD and STANAG requirements. Close collaboration with hardware designers, insulation specialists, and igniter teams will be essential to ensure certifiability, while you will also take part in failure investigations, root‑cause studies, and updates to test procedures to keep the program on track. The position requires a master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, or propulsion engineering and at least four to five years of experience in rocket‑motor development. You must possess deep expertise in motor and thermal‑protection‑system design, be proficient in coding and tool creation, and demonstrate strong analytical and documentation abilities. Comfort working across mechanical, thermal, materials and systems disciplines is expected, as is willingness to travel up to twenty percent of the time to Destinus sites in Switzerland. Additional assets include experience qualifying motors or safe‑arm devices to NATO standards, hands‑on work with static firing tests, propellant handling, and motor integration, as well as familiarity with pressure‑vessel design and combustion analysis. The role sits within a fast‑growing, globally connected engineering team that values high‑intensity problem solving, rapid development cycles, and the chance to shape the future of aerospace defense.
