Elastic, the Search AI Company, powers organisations to retrieve answers instantly from all of their data. Its cloud‑based platform combines search precision with AI intelligence and is used by more than half of the Fortune 500. Within Elastic Security, the Senior Product Manager for XDR will help shape and expand the company's extended detection‑and‑response solution. In this role you will own a core slice of the XDR roadmap, steering detection, correlation, incident creation and response features across endpoint, cloud, identity and network layers. You will expand and keep current the telemetry and integrations that XDR relies on, pulling in both Elastic‑generated data and third‑party EDR, cloud, identity and network sources. The position also contributes to exposure and vulnerability management, prioritising fixes by exploitability rather than raw CVSS scores, and defines remediation workflows. You will translate customer feedback and research from Elastic Security Labs into clear product requirements, represent the product in conversations with senior security leaders, and ensure that capabilities run reliably on cloud, on‑premises and air‑gapped deployments. Regular artefacts such as roadmap trackers and decision memos will keep stakeholders aligned without the need for extra meetings. The employer expects at least five years of experience in security‑focused technical product management, competitive analysis or technical marketing, plus a minimum of three years in a related product development or technical discipline. You must have hands‑on knowledge of XDR, EDR, SIEM, incident response or forensics, and a track record of taking product areas from concept through shipped, iterated releases. Experience building products that ingest diverse third‑party telemetry, a solid grasp of detection analytics and the current threat landscape, and the ability to write precise, actionable requirements are essential. You should feel comfortable presenting the product to senior security stakeholders, communicate complex detection concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, and hold a BS or MS in engineering, computer science or information security. Additional strengths are welcomed. A background as a SOC analyst, detection engineer or incident responder is a plus, as is familiarity with AI‑security, machine‑learning attacks and defenses. Regular use of AI tools for research, synthesis and delivery, and experience with regulated or fully air‑gapped environments, will further differentiate candidates. Elastic promotes a distributed, remote‑first culture that values diversity, offers competitive pay, health coverage for you and your family, and strives for parity of benefits across regions. What the role asks for: - Minimum 5 years security‑focused technical product management experience - At least 3 years product development or related technical experience - Hands‑on experience with XDR, EDR, SIEM, incident response or forensics - Proven ownership of product areas from requirements to shipped releases - Experience building products that ingest heterogeneous third‑party telemetry - Strong understanding of detection analytics and current cyber‑threat landscape - Ability to write clear, actionable engineering requirements - Comfortable presenting to senior security stakeholders - Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non‑technical audiences - BS or MS in engineering, computer science or information security - Nice-to-have: Prior practitioner background as SOC analyst or detection engineer - Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI‑security, ML attacks and defenses - Nice-to-have: Regular use of AI tools for research and delivery - Nice-to-have: Experience with regulated or air‑gapped deployment environments
