Technical Studentship - Material & Surface Science 2027-1

The position of Technical Student – Material & Surface Science 2027‑1 places you within CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, where scientific and technological frontiers are constantly being extended. As a student you will receive practical training while contributing to the laboratory’s material and coating investigations. Each day you will support senior engineers, technicians and scientists, taking part in activities such as analysing samples, performing tests and characterising various materials and coatings. Work will be carried out under close supervision, allowing you to acquire hands‑on skills while sharing ideas with an international, multidisciplinary group. Candidates must be enrolled in an Applied Physics, Engineering Physics or a closely related programme and be required or encouraged by their university to complete a practical training period. At least three semesters of study must be finished, and applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State (excluding the specific countries listed).
