In this position you will construct the backend services that make the lab programmable. Your work will involve designing data pipelines that ingest and clean large volumes of heterogeneous protein‑characterization measurements, building APIs that expose laboratory instruments and robotics to the software stack, and collaborating with scientists and automation engineers to convert intricate molecular‑biology protocols into dependable, scalable code. The focus is on turning physical devices into precise, low‑touch biology platforms rather than delivering a typical SaaS product. The role requires solid experience designing and delivering production‑grade backend systems, with proficiency in Python or TypeScript and familiarity with PostgreSQL or comparable databases. You must have a track record of building data‑processing infrastructure and handling diverse instrument outputs such as binding‑kinetics, enzyme activity, and chromatography data. Comfort with API design and system integration is essential, as is a genuine enthusiasm for biology, even without formal training.
