OpenShift Migration Lead

The organization is hiring an OpenShift Migration Lead to steer the transition of enterprise applications and infrastructure onto modern container platforms. The role focuses on assessing workloads, crafting architecture, defining migration strategies, and overseeing the end‑to‑end move while ensuring security and operational continuity. Day‑to‑day duties include creating and maintaining PowerShell automation for deploying, configuring and managing both applications and underlying infrastructure. The lead will manage release activities, handle large‑scale data uploads, verify rollout schedules, and provide second‑ and third‑level support for incidents. Collaboration spans engineers, developers, product managers, designers, testers and other stakeholders to gather requirements, coordinate deployments and deliver new features. Ongoing responsibilities cover monitoring on‑prem Microsoft servers and Azure environments, planning major upgrades in regulated settings, writing and optimizing SQL queries, generating reports, documenting processes for compliance, and addressing security vulnerabilities through rapid remediation and coordination with security teams. The position also involves building and maintaining Grafana, BigPanda or Splunk dashboards, setting alerts, and analysing monitoring data to drive improvements. Candidates must have proven experience scripting and automating deployments with PowerShell, a solid grasp of deployment pipelines and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins and Git, and hands‑on work with Windows Server and hybrid on‑prem/cloud architectures. Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code tools like ARM templates, Terraform or Ansible, and strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL query development and optimisation are required. Experience integrating enterprise applications such as Finastra, along with excellent troubleshooting, incident management, communication and stakeholder‑management skills, is essential. Additional strengths include staying current on security threats, vulnerabilities and relevant regulatory requirements, and the ability to embed monitoring solutions into automation workflows.
