Staff Robotics Engineer (f/m/d) - Whole-Body Control / Robot Learning & Control

Hexagon Robotics, a branch of the worldwide precision‑measurement leader Hexagon, builds humanoid machines aimed at easing workforce gaps and moving industry from simple automation toward full autonomy. Their inaugural robot, AEON, entered the market in mid‑2025 and serves sectors such as automotive, aerospace, logistics and manufacturing with a blend of agility, perception and spatial reasoning. The Staff Robotics Engineer will steer a group in applying cutting‑edge whole‑body control techniques to the humanoid platform. Daily tasks involve writing and testing controller code, evaluating performance on physical units, and constructing large‑scale pipelines for reinforcement and imitation learning. Collaboration spans a culturally diverse, cross‑disciplinary team that pushes a prototype through to serial production while maintaining a startup‑like pace within a larger R&D setting. Candidates need a doctorate or master’s degree in robotics, computer science or a comparable technical discipline, together with more than five years of experience designing planning and control algorithms for robotic systems. Proficiency with sampling, optimization and machine‑learning based methods is required, as is strong software development ability in Python and C++. Familiarity with ROS 2, Omniverse and the capacity to cooperate closely with other robotics groups are also essential. The position offers a flexible schedule with a hybrid work arrangement, generous holiday allowance that scales with age, a mobility stipend, performance bonuses, robust pension contributions and extensive learning opportunities. Relocation assistance, discounts on health and travel services, regular team gatherings and a flat, inclusive hierarchy round out a supportive, international environment.
