Julius Baer, a renowned private bank with over 130 years of heritage, is seeking a Team Head for Emerging Markets Investment Advisory based in Zürich. The company is known for its personalized wealth management and long-term client partnerships, combining financial expertise with innovative solutions. The role involves leading a team of investment advisors and serving as a strategic partner for Relationship Managers covering Emerging Markets, including MENA, APAC, and Southern Europe. The main day-to-day responsibilities include leading and developing a team of investment advisors, setting performance targets, and ensuring continuous growth and accountability. The role also involves crafting comprehensive investment strategies for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, conducting portfolio diagnostics, and ensuring all recommendations adhere to regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position requires acting as a trusted advisor during high-stakes client interactions, delivering insightful presentations, and partnering with Relationship Managers to co-lead client meetings. Regular travel to key Emerging hubs is also part of the role to maintain client proximity and deepen relationships. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a university degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A CFA certification and/or additional certifications such as CAIA are highly valued. A minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in private banking or wealth management, with exposure to cross-border advisory, is required. Proven leadership experience in investment advisory teams, preferably in a global or multi-jurisdictional setting, is essential. Additionally, a deep understanding of local cultural nuances and business practices is crucial. Nice-to-have skills include the ability to champion deep regional knowledge within Julius Baer, sharing market commentary and economic updates. The role also involves liaising with the Research department and regional desks to refine investment views and identify structural shifts. Contributing to firmwide initiatives focused on improving the client journey, including digital enablement and multilingual content development, is also part of the role.
