Open Application - Volunteer

Startup Nights is assembling a new volunteer team to support its events in Switzerland. The organisation connects founders, investors, students, and innovators. This open application is for those who want to contribute to shaping the event but do not see a suitable role currently advertised. Volunteers will define their own tasks based on their strengths. This could involve leading or supporting a workstream, improving processes, coordinating people or partners, contributing to communications or community efforts, or helping with event operations. Volunteers will set clear outcomes, take ownership from start to finish, and make decisions within their area. They will work closely with a volunteer team and communicate promptly when plans or commitments change. Candidates must be proactive and willing to suggest and start useful work. They need to be reliable and accountable, keeping commitments or raising risks early. The ability to work independently and collaborate across a 60-70-person team is essential. Clear communication in German and English is required; other languages are useful in some areas. Nice-to-have skills include relevant experience from work, studies, community, sport, or personal projects. Startup experience is welcome but not required. The role is based in Winterthur, with flexible preparation work and event-facing contributions.
