Android Software Engineer

The role is for an Android Software Engineer to join the Banking Services team. The company focuses on developing and evolving modern Android applications related to Payments, Cards, or Cryptocurrencies. The team is dedicated to creating clean, scalable, and maintainable mobile solutions. The main day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Android applications. This involves taking end-to-end ownership of technical topics, from requirements clarification to production follow-up. The engineer will contribute to the architecture and evolution of existing mobile systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Additionally, the role involves building and maintaining UI components using Jetpack Compose, implementing asynchronous logic and reactive data flows, and producing clean, well-tested code. The engineer will also review code and technical solutions, collaborate with other engineers, product stakeholders, and designers, and support production releases. Contributing to improving engineering practices, automated testing, and technical documentation is also part of the job, as is mentoring less experienced engineers. The must-have requirements include strong professional experience in Android application development, particularly in Kotlin-based environments. Proficiency in Kotlin, including Coroutines and Flows, and Jetpack Compose is essential. A solid understanding of Clean Architecture, separation of concerns, and common design patterns in Android is required. Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks, Gradle, and automated testing is also necessary. The ability to understand and modify existing complex or legacy Android codebases, along with a strong focus on code quality and maintainability, is crucial. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is a must. Nice-to-have skills include previous experience with consumer-facing, high-traffic, or business-critical mobile products. Experience with MVVM / MVI architectures, Room, Retrofit, and other Jetpack libraries, as well as the Firebase ecosystem, is beneficial. Knowledge of app analytics, crash reporting, and production diagnostics tools, and experience working in cross-functional, agile teams is also valuable. Hands-on experience with agentic models or AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
