Supplier & Field Quality Engineer

Cannondale, a global leader in bicycle innovation for more than five decades, is looking for a Supplier & Field Quality Engineer to join its team in Freiburg, Germany. The company designs and manufactures high‑performance frames, forks and related components, striving to deliver reliable, rider‑focused products while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. In this position you will conduct supplier audits, translate findings into actionable improvements, and work hand‑in‑hand with frame and fork suppliers to address quality concerns, especially those related to paint finishes. You will manage claim investigations, pinpoint root causes and drive corrective actions, while coordinating daily with global quality partners across Asia to monitor progress and close open issues. On‑site visits to supplier facilities and production lines will give you direct insight into problems, enabling you to influence outcomes and share weekly performance updates with cross‑functional teams. The role requires 2–4 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality or a related engineering function. You should possess a solid grasp of carbon‑fiber lay‑up, curing processes and non‑destructive testing, as well as knowledge of metal forming, CNC machining, welding and heat‑treatment techniques. Familiarity with wheel building, brake systems and suspension components, the ability to interpret technical drawings (GD&T), and competence in MSA, SPC and Gage R&R are essential. Understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and safety standards (ISO 4210), combined with a problem‑solving mindset, analytical orientation and strong communication skills for supplier relationships, are also required. The position is based on‑site at Cannondale's Freiburg location and is not remote.
