Intern - IT Controlling (m/f/x)

Hilti, a worldwide leader in construction innovation, is seeking an Intern for its IT Controlling function. The position sits within the Global IT Controlling team and supports the company’s effort to simplify operations and standardise platforms across its extensive IT portfolio. Day‑to‑day duties involve spotting and designing enhancements to current controlling processes, as well as building or refining automated tools such as dashboards, templates, macros and workflow solutions to reduce repetitive effort. The intern will also help lift data quality, tidy reporting structures and keep documentation up to date, while collaborating with team leads, product owners and project managers to provide clear visibility on actual versus forecast costs and to maintain project and portfolio information. Additional tasks include reviewing investment proposals from a controlling angle, conducting detailed analyses and offering recommendations that boost cost efficiency and transparency for strategic projects. The role requires a bachelor’s degree – either ongoing or finished – in finance, accounting, business, engineering, information systems or a similar discipline. Candidates must demonstrate solid analytical ability, a keen interest in streamlining processes and fluency in English. Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is essential; familiarity with Power BI, VBA, Python or other automation utilities is considered advantageous. A self‑driven, well‑organised work style, strong problem‑solving instincts and good communication skills for interacting with global IT partners are also required, and prior internship experience is welcomed.
