Project Manager New Engines (m/f/d)

WinGD, a leader in advanced marine propulsion technology, seeks a Project Manager New Engines to join its Winterthur site. The role focuses on steering the development of two‑stroke marine power units from initial definition through concept, detailed design, testing, commissioning and final hand‑over to both internal and external customers. Day‑to‑day duties involve crafting comprehensive project schedules that outline key milestones and resource needs, while synchronising efforts across engineering, design and local product centres to meet delivery dates. The manager will direct engine test planning to verify compliance with design and safety criteria, keep thorough documentation for audit purposes, and monitor risk factors, quantifying and mitigating them as required. Continuous communication with all stakeholders ensures transparency on progress and any issues that could affect timelines, and prompt problem‑solving is expected when obstacles arise. Candidates must hold a university degree in mechanical engineering and bring two to three years of core project‑management experience, complemented by at least three years in two‑ or four‑stroke diesel or Otto engine development, preferably within the marine arena. A PMP or equivalent certification is required, together with solid knowledge of marine engine engineering processes, shipping industry regulations and the ability to interpret technical drawings. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential. The position offers the chance to influence the environmental footprint of global shipping, working in a multicultural, interdisciplinary setting that values agile, non‑hierarchical collaboration. WinGD provides in‑house technology training and professional growth opportunities, set within a dynamic environment that blends historic expertise with cutting‑edge innovation.
