Commissioning Manager - Mechanical

Global Commissioning Limited is a privately held consultancy headquartered in the United Kingdom that focuses on delivering commissioning and validation services for data‑centre projects. In this position you will direct the safe and on‑schedule delivery of mechanical and related systems from concept through handover. Early duties involve drafting and checking the owner’s project brief, design basis and commissioning documentation, as well as preparing the overall commissioning schedule and leading the initial coordination meeting. During construction you will run multiple levels of commissioning workshops, attend factory and field tests, produce compliance reports, create checklists for electrical, mechanical, monitoring and safety equipment, and maintain a detailed tracker while holding regular progress meetings. In the acceptance stage you will supervise advanced testing, compile performance data, generate stakeholder reports and lead the pre‑integration testing session. The final hand‑over phase includes gathering training material, verifying operation‑and‑maintenance manuals, facilitating a lessons‑learned workshop and delivering the definitive commissioning report. The role requires a trade apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, possession of CSCS, Safe Pass, ECS or SMSTS certification, and an HNC in electrical, mechanical or building services. A Prince2 certification is advantageous, while a BEng (Hons) in an engineering discipline is considered a plus.
