enShift is a Swiss company that designs, finances and runs energy assets for buildings, focusing on photovoltaic (PV) installations, battery storage systems and heat‑pump solutions. The internship sits within the Asset Management team, which is responsible for keeping the live fleet operating efficiently over many years. From day one you will handle real operational tasks rather than observe from the sidelines. You will compare actual PV output with the original simulation, identify under‑performing plants, inverters or strings and investigate the causes. When a fault is confirmed you will decide the next action, whether to resolve it remotely, dispatch an installer or service crew, or attend the site yourself, and prepare the necessary diagnostic information. You will also track the coefficient of performance (COP) and energy data of heat‑pump units, flagging any drift and helping to pinpoint whether the issue is technical, a configuration error, or a data problem. Keeping the monitoring platforms reliable is part of the role: you will verify that each installation is correctly linked, that data streams are complete and trustworthy, and you will differentiate between genuine equipment faults and meter‑related anomalies. In addition, you will review existing alerts, suggest improvements or new alerts to catch real problems early while avoiding unnecessary noise. Daily work involves using AI tools, primarily Claude, to analyse data, draft reports and automate routine checks, always asking the right questions, critically reviewing outputs and confirming information before acting on it. The position requires you to be currently studying or a recent graduate in engineering, energy or a closely related discipline such as electrical or mechanical engineering. You must be fluent in French and/or German to communicate with installers and site contacts, and comfortable using English for documentation. Proficiency with spreadsheets and handling data is essential. The employer places the highest value on curiosity and a genuine drive to learn how PV plants, batteries and heat pumps function and why they may under‑perform. A solution‑oriented mindset and strong critical thinking, especially regarding data, external inputs and AI results, are also mandatory. The internship lasts between six and twelve months, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role. enShift offers further training in renewable‑energy technologies and project management, and promises a dynamic, innovative environment where decisions are made quickly and creative freedom is encouraged. You will directly contribute to the energy transition, gaining hands‑on experience that can shape your future career. What the role asks for: - Currently studying or recently graduated in engineering or energy - Fluency in French and/or German for site communication - Proficiency in English for documentation - Strong spreadsheet and data handling skills - High curiosity and strong drive to learn - Solution‑oriented mindset - Critical thinking about data and AI outputs
