(Senior) System software engineer

The role of a (Senior) System Software Engineer at CDDS involves working on high-performance autonomous systems to enhance Europe's resilience and security. The main responsibilities include building a platform that integrates radar, sensors, and third-party data into a single, real-time operational picture. This involves designing and implementing the integration layer that connects drones to external systems, ensuring low latency and high reliability. Additionally, the role includes developing fleet-management tooling to monitor, configure, and coordinate drones in the field. The engineer will also profile, tune, and harden system performance to ensure it operates effectively under real-world conditions. To qualify for this role, candidates must have an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from a top-tier university, with a strong academic record. Additionally, candidates need 3+ years of professional experience in building production software, with deep expertise in Python. Fluency in Linux-based development environments and a solid understanding of software security fundamentals are also required. Nice-to-have skills include experience integrating with command and control (C2) systems, working with radar feeds or other external sensors, and knowledge of networking protocols and secure communication. Comfort with a bash CLI is also beneficial.
