Bash QA Lead - Remote

The position is a remote contract role titled Bash QA Lead, working for an AI‑focused data services firm that supplies training material to leading artificial‑intelligence developers. The job centers on supervising the quality and consistency of Bash‑shell scripting data used to teach large language models, ensuring that the code and accompanying explanations meet the company’s standards. Daily duties involve reviewing AI‑produced scripts and automation snippets, flagging unsafe commands, non‑portable syntax, or missing error handling, and delivering clear written feedback through direct messages. You will keep contributors informed of guideline updates on Discord, manage onboarding sessions, maintain style guides, FAQs and calibration tasks, and monitor inactive participants to encourage re‑engagement. Additionally, you will identify recurring quality gaps and help shape scalable QA processes. Applicants need a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a computing discipline or comparable experience, strong English communication skills, and at least three years of hands‑on Bash or Unix scripting work. Proficiency with variables, quoting, loops, functions, pipelines, permissions and POSIX portability is required. Preferred experience includes leading remote reviewer teams, familiarity with tools such as grep, awk, sed, Git, Docker and CI/CD pipelines, and prior involvement in AI data annotation or code quality assessment. The role offers flexible remote work and the chance to join an emerging expert network for future projects.
