The Senior Data Engineering Consultant will be involved in the entire lifecycle of projects, both internally and externally. Key responsibilities include consulting, engineering, and training, where the role involves understanding and delivering impactful services related to data, software, and AI engineering. The consultant will analyze customer requirements, identify best-fit solutions, and implement data pipelines and platforms. Additionally, the role involves contributing to solution blueprints and concepts, such as reliable data products and efficient data meshes, and acting as a thought leader in the field of data platforms, data products, and DataOps. To excel in this role, candidates must have at least five years of professional experience as a Data or Software Engineer with a focus on data and ML systems. Familiarity with major data and AI platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, and MS Fabric, is essential, with certification being a plus. Experience with data analytics and DataOps best practices, as well as topics like Data Mesh, Data Lake/Warehouses, and Reliability Engineering, is required. Technical, hands-on experience with programming languages, distributed systems, SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud services, REST API, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and Agile development methods is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include experience working in a client-facing or consulting role. The role is based in Basel, Switzerland, and requires fluency in German and English.
