Lab Technician (contract)

Roche Diagnostics International Ltd in Rotkreuz, a leading global supplier of diagnostic system solutions for clinics, laboratories and doctors’ offices, is looking ahead for future Lab Technician talent. The position sits within the System Development department, which focuses on workflow optimisation and the integration of hardware, software, consumables and reagents to verify diagnostic instruments, and will involve supporting and further developing already launched complex diagnostic systems. In this role you will supervise laboratory activities and equipment, act as the laboratory representative on the quality team, and assist R&D and validation projects. Daily tasks include performing molecular‑biology experiments according to standard operating procedures, analysing the data, and reporting results promptly to project managers. You will also manage the ordering, tracking and receipt of test samples and consumables, and communicate independently with other departments. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related discipline and has experience working in a highly regulated environment, including biosafety level 1 and 2 labs. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required, while German language skills are considered an advantage. A background in statistical data analysis, strong teamwork, clear communication, and a proactive, solution‑oriented attitude are essential. The role is based at Roche’s Rotkreuz site, one of the company’s main diagnostic locations employing over 2,200 staff.
