The Global Environmental Manager will lead the company's environmental initiatives. This role involves developing and executing a global environmental strategy that aligns with SHL Medical's sustainability goals and long-term business objectives. The manager will design and implement a comprehensive climate transition plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, develop and enforce global environmental policies, and drive initiatives in environmental compliance, pollution prevention, waste reduction, water stewardship, and biodiversity conservation. Additionally, the manager will stay updated on emerging climate and environmental regulations, monitor environmental performance metrics, and oversee corporate carbon accounting. Candidates must have a university degree in environmental engineering, engineering, sustainability, or a related field. They should have experience in the manufacturing industry and at least 10 years of relevant experience in environmental roles, preferably in both local and global organizations. Deep technical expertise in greenhouse gas accounting and environmental management systems, such as ISO 14001, is required. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience with senior executive leadership, are essential. The role requires up to 20% international travel and strong English language skills. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with the company's culture, which emphasizes customer focus, ethical operations, simplicity, continuous learning, and teamwork.
