Global MSAT DS Senior Process Steward 80-100%

Roche's Global Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) team is looking for a Senior Process Steward focused on Large‑Molecule Drug Substance. The role sits within Pharma Technical Technology, part of Pharma Technical Operations, and supports Roche's mission to prevent, stop and cure disease while ensuring worldwide access to healthcare. As a senior member of the global MSAT DS group, you will bridge expertise across manufacturing sites and help drive robust, efficient, and reliable processes for commercial biologics. On a daily basis you will assist Product Technical Leads and Product Stewards with process industrialisation, run gap assessments and feed identified risks into the risk log. You will design and implement mitigation strategies, push systematic improvements based on data insights, and manage second‑source and change initiatives. The position also requires executing validated‑state support activities, handling investigations, CAPAs and troubleshooting, and leading non‑product‑specific root‑cause analyses. You will work with the pilot‑plant team for scaled experiments, support validation studies, and oversee technology transfers to manufacturing sites, while ensuring alignment with network initiatives, material changes and health‑authority expectations. Collaboration with global and site functions, leadership, and digital product teams is essential, as is translating business needs into digital strategies that enhance technical sustainability. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Biochemical Engineering or a related discipline and brings at least seven years of industrial experience in process development, engineering or manufacturing operations. Proven ability to lead within collaborative, matrix‑structured teams is required, as is hands‑on experience with process validation and technology transfer for both E. coli and CHO platforms. A solid understanding of pharmaceutical quality systems, industry guidelines, regulatory submissions and health‑authority requirements is mandatory. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to convey deliverables to senior leadership, and the role involves up to ten percent travel.
