The role of Project Engineer Team Lead is within a forward-thinking technology company focused on the energy transition. The company specializes in software solutions that assist electricity utilities and grid operators in creating digital models of their networks, analyzing future scenarios, and optimizing investment decisions. This is crucial for adapting to challenges like renewable energy integration and electric mobility. The main responsibilities involve leading utility customer projects from data collection to implementation and support. This includes analyzing, validating, and transforming network data for integration into the Smart Grid platform. The role also supports grid modeling, power flow studies, and future network planning activities. Additionally, the position acts as the main technical contact for customers throughout project delivery and coordinates a team of Project Engineers based in Zurich and Spain. Monitoring project progress, budgets, resource allocation, and delivery milestones is also a key part of the job. Collaboration with the Sales team on proposals, effort estimations, and customer requirements is essential. Contributing to internal improvement initiatives, engineering processes, and data architecture projects, as well as participating in quality management activities, including ISO audits and continuous improvement processes, are also part of the role. Mentoring new team members and supporting their onboarding and development is another important aspect. To be successful in this role, candidates must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in power systems, electricity networks, utilities, or Smart Grid environments is required. Strong analytical skills and experience working with technical or operational data are essential. Exposure to data analysis, data integration, or programming (Python preferred) is also necessary. A good understanding of distribution and/or transmission networks is crucial. Experience managing technical projects and customer relationships is required. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. Previous leadership experience is welcome, but leadership potential and motivation are equally valued. Fluent German and professional English are essential. Nice-to-have skills include the ability to work effectively in a home office environment. The location in Zurich offers a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
