Senior Associate / Manager - Cloud, Data & AI - Data Management Specialist

PwC's Cloud, Data & AI practice is looking for a Senior Associate or Manager to serve as a Data Management Specialist. In this role you will help organisations turn raw data into reliable, scalable assets that drive smarter decisions and support AI‑enabled growth. The position sits within a global consulting firm renowned for delivering high‑impact transformation programmes across a range of industries. On a daily basis you will lead initiatives that improve data quality, ownership, metadata, lineage and lifecycle management, ensuring information is trustworthy and ready for advanced analytics and automation. You will shape enterprise data platforms from an architectural and operational standpoint, with a focus on observability, quality and AI readiness. Translating business needs into data definitions, models and transformation logic on modern cloud platforms will be a core task, as will building governance frameworks, forums and decision‑making mechanisms that embed accountability and adoption. You will also produce client‑facing deliverables such as target operating models, platform blueprints, governance playbooks and implementation roadmaps, while supporting business development through proposal creation, pricing and client relationship activities. Coaching junior team members and staying current on emerging data and AI technologies round out the responsibilities. The role requires a university degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics or a closely related discipline. Candidates must have substantial consulting experience in an international, client‑facing setting, with a proven record of managing workstreams or projects in data, technology, analytics or digital transformation. Deep knowledge of core data‑management and governance concepts, including data quality, metadata, master data and ownership, is essential, as is hands‑on involvement in data‑governance, catalogue, migration or transformation initiatives. Practical experience with enterprise data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake or Databricks, together with an understanding of supporting architecture, is also required. Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and German, the ability to run workshops and engage senior stakeholders, and a commercial mindset that includes proposal development, solution design and pricing experience are mandatory. Additional assets include advanced degrees or executive education, recognised certifications such as DAMA CDMP, Microsoft DP‑900, AZ‑900, AI‑900, DP‑600, DP‑700, Snowflake SnowPro Core or Databricks Data Analyst/Engineer, and familiarity with business‑process analytics tools like Celonis or Signavio. Experience working in cross‑functional, international teams, both remotely and on‑site, and proficiency in languages beyond English and German are also valued.
