Data Engineer - Financial Services

The position is for a Data Engineer who will help construct a proprietary data ecosystem for a financial‑services client based in Nyon. The role supports a group of fundamental research analysts and works closely with investment professionals to create infrastructure, databases, and analytical tools that make the research workflow more efficient, deeper and scalable. Daily tasks involve designing, building and maintaining custom databases that serve financial research, contributing to a central data lake, and implementing modern data architectures. The engineer will create and operate scalable pipelines that ingest, transform, validate and distribute data from many sources while guaranteeing quality, governance and easy access. In addition, they will craft internal tools to boost analyst productivity, develop screening and exploration solutions, and automate data collection, processing and reporting activities. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics or a closely related discipline. They must be proficient in Python and SQL, have hands‑on experience with database and pipeline construction, and understand contemporary data architecture patterns and cloud environments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, clear communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences, a proactive mindset and a willingness to continuously learn are essential, as are fluency in French and English.
