Senior Mechanical Engineer (M/F)

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role is within a company focused on developing advanced communication products for aerospace environments. The company is based in Lausanne and is expanding its Product Development team. The main day-to-day responsibilities include designing and developing complex mechanical solutions that meet high performance, reliability, size, weight, and environmental standards. This involves driving requirements, architecture definition, and technical trade-offs. The role also includes creating parametric CAD designs, performing thermal simulations, and developing electronic cooling solutions. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, RF, and optical subsystems, and will be involved in prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes. To qualify, candidates must have a Master's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, along with significant experience in mechanical product development and design. Strong expertise in parametric CAD design and solid experience in thermal simulations and thermal management of electronic systems are required. Experience with system-level architectures and developing products for harsh operating environments is also necessary. Experience in aerospace, space, or satellite applications is a strong advantage. Nice-to-have skills include hands-on experience with prototyping, assembly, integration, and testing, as well as a good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design-for-Manufacturing principles. Familiarity with tools such as SolidWorks, Ansys Mechanical, Discovery, Icepak, and/or Mathcad is beneficial. The role is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, with a 100% employment rate and a requirement for on-site presence at least three days per week.
