The role of an Image and Data Processing Libraries Intern at NVIDIA involves contributing to the development and enhancement of GPU and CPU accelerated software libraries. The intern will work on extending existing libraries and creating new ones for various applications, including AI, HPC, and medical fields. To qualify for this internship, candidates must be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Math, or a related field. Essential skills include programming in C/C++ and Python, as well as experience in parallel or GPU programming using technologies like AVX, NEON, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, or OpenCL. Experience with image coding formats such as jpg and tiff, and data compression algorithms like LZW and DEFLATE, is also required. Nice-to-have skills include knowledge of image processing algorithms, performance analysis, and test design. Familiarity with floating-point arithmetic internals and numerical error analysis can also be beneficial.
