IT Finance Controller

The IT Finance Controller role offers strategic financial leadership for a specific technology function within a large, international organization. Positioned inside the IT department and reporting to the Head of IT Business Management, the position links technology leadership with financial planning, analysis and the Strategic Programme Management Office, ensuring that technology priorities, approved investments, forecasts and workforce plans stay tightly aligned. Day‑to‑day duties include overseeing the budgeting and financial control of the Corporate IT area and managing its annual budget. The controller acts as the finance partner to the Head of Corporate IT, supporting strategic planning, budgeting and investment choices, while also becoming the primary finance liaison for an assigned IT business segment, grasping its strategy, operating model, technology roadmap and cost drivers. Responsibilities extend to converting technology plans into reliable in‑year forecasts, budgets and multi‑year outlooks, aiming for a variance of no more than one percent between forecast and actual spend. The role also provides forward‑looking insight on cost pressures, investment capacity, financial risks and opportunities, and works closely with vendor management, enterprise architecture, software asset management and other governance teams to evaluate contract impacts, inflation effects and multi‑year commitments, seeking ways to consolidate services, simplify the landscape, automate processes and cut recurring operating costs. Candidates must have experience in a large, international or highly regulated environment and be familiar with technology operating models, infrastructure services, software delivery, cloud economics and product‑centric organisations. Required knowledge includes Agile, DevOps and traditional project‑delivery methods, major ERP and enterprise portfolio‑management platforms, as well as practical experience with Oracle Fusion and ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management. A track record of delivering finance‑process automation or transformation projects is also essential.
