Gravis Robotics, a fast‑growing Series A start‑up backed by SoftBank, is commercialising Physical AI for the construction sector. Originating from an ETH Zurich spin‑out, the company equips heavy earth‑moving machines with autonomous capabilities, allowing a single operator to control a fleet through a gamified interface. Their flagship offering, the Gravis RACK, is a machine‑agnostic retrofit kit that adds LiDAR, camera, GNSS RTK, networking and rugged edge compute to excavators and wheel loaders ranging from 10 to over 100 tonnes. Paired with the Slate tablet and Copilot software, the system supports manual operation, AI‑assisted control, or full autonomy, and the team also creates custom hardware for specialised, robust applications beyond conventional excavation. The Senior Robotics Software Engineer – Autonomy Architecture will join this rapidly expanding team, contributing to the core autonomy stack that powers the RACK kit and its integration with the broader Gravis ecosystem, which is already deployed across multiple countries with leading construction and equipment partners.
