Forward Deployed Engineer

TechTree is recruiting a Forward Deployed Engineer for a client that builds intelligent software enabling robots and sensors to perform hazardous tasks in real‑world security settings. The company operates from Zurich, backed by forward‑thinking investors, and focuses on protecting industrial sites, critical infrastructure and military locations. In this position you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of on‑site AI security installations. Tasks include conducting site assessments, planning hardware layouts, installing edge devices such as NVIDIA DGX Spark or Jetson‑class units, and integrating them with existing cameras, sensors, VMS platforms and robots. You will also write custom glue code where needed, fine‑tune detection and tracking algorithms to match local conditions, and hand over a fully commissioned system to the client. Acting as the technical representative, you will train operators, provide rapid support and become the go‑to engineer for customers. The role demands a solid software background and strong people skills. Candidates need at least three years of development experience, with deep knowledge of Python and Linux. Proven ability to deliver software on‑premise or at the edge, using Docker containers, is essential. High emotional intelligence is required to understand user needs and navigate relationships from frontline staff to senior management. Fluency in German and good command of English are mandatory, as is a willingness to relocate to Zurich and travel regularly throughout Switzerland and Europe. Applicants must hold citizenship of Switzerland, an EU/EFTA nation or a NATO member state.
