MESH builds robotic solutions that automate rebar fabrication and broader construction processes. Based in Switzerland, the company combines mechanical design, robotics, software and industrial‑automation expertise to deliver robust, deployable systems that operate in real‑world production sites rather than laboratory demos. As a Robotics Product Engineer you will own the existing Mesh Actuate and Mesh Node products that are already installed at customer sites. Your daily work will involve being the main engineering contact for those deployments, monitoring system health, diagnosing faults across hardware and software, and delivering remote support. You will write production‑grade Python to improve performance, design workflow enhancements that boost cycle time and reliability, and create tooling for faster diagnostics. Interaction with industrial robot integrations, on‑site troubleshooting, and translating patterns from multiple installations into platform‑wide upgrades are also core activities. The role requires at least two years of professional experience either as a software engineer with strong Python applied to live systems or in a shipping‑product context involving industrial robots. Candidates must have a track record of delivering hardware and/or software robotic products, not just prototypes, and possess sharp analytical instincts to pinpoint issues across mechanical, electrical, control and software layers. A solid grasp of hardware‑software trade‑offs, familiarity with ERP/MES data flows, and comfort engaging directly with customers on non‑reproducible problems are essential. An engineering background, formal education or equivalent experience, provides the fundamentals for reasoning about mechanical and electrical systems. Self‑direction, willingness to travel to client sites, and working proficiency in English (German and/or French a strong plus) are also required. Nice‑to‑have attributes include experience with a particular industrial robot platform or its SDK, knowledge of fleet‑monitoring, telemetry or observability tools for distributed hardware, and prior work as an engineering liaison for enterprise or industrial customers. Working at MESH means joining a hands‑on, high‑growth environment where engineers are foundational builders, collaborating closely with partners across the construction ecosystem and spending much of the time on‑site in the company's workshops and test facilities. What the role asks for: - 2+ years professional experience with production Python or industrial robots - Shipping hardware and/or software robotic product background - Strong analytical and diagnostic instincts - Understanding of hardware‑software trade‑offs - Familiarity with ERP/MES data flow to factory floor - Comfort working directly with customers and deployed systems - Engineering background (formal or equivalent) - Self‑direction in identifying improvement priorities - Willingness to travel to customer sites - Working proficiency in English; German/French a strong plus - Experience with specific industrial robot platform or SDK (nice to have) - Knowledge of fleet monitoring, telemetry, observability tools (nice to have) - Experience as engineering liaison for enterprise/industrial customers (nice to have)
