DMPK-PD Project Leader

Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) unit creates transformative medicines for unmet health needs, and within this setting the DMPK‑PD Project Leader drives the delivery of safe, effective drugs at optimal doses. The role sits in the Translational DMPK‑PD Group, where scientific insight is turned into clinical candidates across therapeutic areas. Each day the leader shapes drug design and optimisation plans, integrating modern DMPK concepts with target biology validation and translational PK/PD thinking. They act as the go‑to expert for early discovery teams, crafting sophisticated translational strategies and performing core modelling and simulation work such as PK‑PD, PBPK, drug‑drug interaction and human dose predictions for projects ranging from lead optimisation to Phase 2/3 trials. The position also involves preparing high‑quality scientific assessments of non‑clinical DMPK data for internal reviews and major regulatory submissions, and collaborating on biomarker and bioanalytical approaches to safeguard patients while achieving therapeutic benefit. Throughout, the leader promotes transparent, data‑driven decisions and builds trusted relationships across global project teams and external partners. Candidates must hold a PharmD or PhD in a pharmaceutical‑related discipline and bring five to ten years of industry experience in a pharmacokinetic function. They need extensive knowledge of PK characterisation, distribution and PK‑PD across small molecules, biologics and nucleic‑acid therapeutics, as well as proven leadership and communication abilities to guide multidisciplinary projects. Practical experience with modelling and simulation, and familiarity with AI/ML applications to DMPK, are essential. Additional strengths include proficiency with tools such as Phoenix, Berkeley Madonna, GastroPlus or SimCyp, and a commitment to inclusive, high‑trust teamwork.
