As Lead Reinforcement Learning Engineer, Humanoid at NEURA Robotics, you will shape the company's strategy for learning‑based control of its 4NE1 humanoid platform. In this senior role you will guide a team of engineers and researchers, turning cutting‑edge reinforcement‑learning, imitation‑learning and foundation‑model research into robust, production‑ready capabilities that enable autonomous, adaptable robots for commercial use. Your day‑to‑day work will involve defining the roadmap for humanoid behaviours, developing and deploying advanced control policies for locomotion, manipulation and whole‑body motion, and establishing scalable frameworks for training, validation and operation. You will evaluate and industrialise state‑of‑the‑art methods, lead sim‑to‑real transfer through domain randomisation and system identification, and ensure that learned policies run safely on physical robots. Collaboration with controls, perception, platform, software and hardware groups will be essential to integrate learning‑based functions into the final product. The position requires deep technical expertise. A Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline is mandatory, together with at least eight years of experience in robotics or machine learning and a proven record of delivering learning‑based robotic systems to production. You must have demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary engineering and research teams, and be comfortable bridging academic research with industrial deployment. Hands‑on proficiency with Isaac Lab / Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, PyTorch, ROS2, Python and C++ is expected, as is a solid grasp of robot dynamics, kinematics, whole‑body control, motion planning, sensor integration and sim‑to‑real transfer techniques. Excellent English communication skills are required; German language ability is highly desirable. Beyond the core requirements, the role offers the chance to influence long‑term technology roadmaps, mentor a world‑class engineering team and work at the forefront of cognitive robotics. You will operate in a collaborative, high‑ownership culture that values scientific rigor and rapid, measurable impact on product development. What the role asks for: - Master's or Ph.D. in Robotics, CS, ML, AI or related field - 8+ years experience in robotics, reinforcement learning or machine learning - Proven track record of deploying learning‑based robotic systems - Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary engineering/research teams - Hands‑on experience with Isaac Lab / Isaac Sim and MuJoCo - Proficiency with PyTorch, ROS2, Python and C++ - Strong understanding of robot dynamics, kinematics, whole‑body control, motion planning, sensor integration and sim‑to‑real transfer - Nice‑to‑have: German language skills
