Product Creation Academy - Product Design

The Product Creation Academy – Product Design is a two‑year, rotational graduate program at On, the Swiss‑based brand known for disruptive sportswear. The scheme is built to turn emerging designers into functional experts who can take ideas from sketch to shelf, rotating through apparel, footwear, production and a tailored specialization. During the programme you will work hand‑in‑hand with product development, material science and product management teams, guiding designs through every stage—from research and concept generation to 3D modelling, fitting and final approval. You will serve as the link between the Zurich design studio and global factories, feeding back manufacturing insights and solving technical challenges, while also scanning sport, fashion and technology trends to feed the next collection. Candidates must hold a master’s degree in fashion, industrial, footwear design or a closely related creative discipline and present a compelling portfolio that showcases mastery of form, colour, silhouette and technical construction. A cross‑disciplinary outlook is required, with enthusiasm for both apparel and footwear. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is essential, and experience with 3D tools such as CLO3D, Rhino or Gravity Sketch is highly valued. Fluency in English, the right to work in Switzerland or the EU, strong communication skills, an entrepreneurial mindset and a natural curiosity about culture, arts and technology are also mandatory. The role is based in On’s vibrant Global Design Studio in Zurich, a hub that brings together footwear, apparel, accessories, colour, material, innovation and sustainability teams. After three six‑month rotations, the final seven‑month segment lets you dive deeper into areas like innovation design, colour and material or sustainability, while a five‑month stint in Vietnam offers hands‑on exposure to production and development. This environment promises a holistic, 360‑degree view of creating world‑class sportswear.
