Head of Data Security (m/w/d)

Liebherr‑International AG is expanding its Global Corporate Information Security Team in Bulle, Switzerland, and seeks a Head of Data Security who will report to the Head of Digital Security. The role is part of the company’s information‑technology division, responsible for safeguarding data across IT, OT and cloud environments worldwide. In this position you will shape and execute a global data‑security strategy that aligns with business goals and regulatory demands. Daily duties include steering the data‑security team, defining labeling and access‑control policies together with Data Governance, and overseeing encryption, key‑management and data‑loss‑prevention solutions. You will also lead risk assessments, coordinate incident response for breaches, and set up monitoring and audit mechanisms to track data usage. Additionally, you will work closely with IT, legal and business units to protect sensitive information and run awareness and training programmes for staff. The role requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science or a related discipline, at least five years of experience in cybersecurity and three years in a leadership capacity. Preferred certifications are CISSP or CISM. Fluency in English is mandatory, while German and French are advantageous. You must possess deep knowledge of data‑security concepts, GDPR and similar frameworks, as well as hands‑on experience with DLP, cloud encryption, tokenisation, PKI, PGP, KMS and HSM. Strong problem‑solving, communication, stakeholder management and project‑management skills are essential, and you should be prepared for occasional global travel.
