Tender Engineer Process (Waste-to-Energy)

As a Tender Engineer Process (Waste‑to‑Energy) you will join the Global Engineering & Supply Chain Tendering team, where you will shape the design, sizing and cost estimates of plant systems for international EPC proposals. Your daily work will involve generating heat and mass balances, drafting process flow diagrams and defining performance guarantees together with Chief Engineers. You will optimise system integration to keep proposals cost‑competitive, coordinate with disciplines ranging from electrical and control to civil and procurement, and scrutinise contract specifications to spot risks and opportunities. The role also includes taking part in technical clarification and negotiation meetings, budgeting the engineering and procurement scope, supporting RFQ preparation for critical equipment, analysing supplier offers, and assembling the full tender package with bills of quantities and related documentation before handing it over to the execution team. Maintaining and improving tendering tools, templates and lessons learned will also be part of your remit. The position requires at least five years of experience in an international EPC setting—such as energy, renewables, environmental technology or oil & gas—and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering. A solid background in project execution or tendering, familiarity with process engineering cost drivers, and hands‑on knowledge of waste‑to‑energy technologies (combustion and boiler, flue‑gas treatment, water‑steam cycle, balance of plant) are essential. Strong analytical and communication abilities, a proactive and collaborative mindset, and fluency in English are mandatory; additional languages are a plus. While the role is advertised for Zurich, candidates residing elsewhere may be considered, with preferred alternatives in Milan, Bratislava or Levice.
