We are looking for a Coffee Trader to expand and manage a profitable physical green‑coffee business, with a primary focus on sourcing from Ethiopia. The role operates within a global commodity trading environment that links producers, exporters and roasters worldwide. The trader will design and implement the green‑coffee strategy for designated origins and markets, build reliable supply channels with Ethiopian exporters, cooperatives, washing stations and producers, and stay up‑to‑date on crop cycles, regional grades and market dynamics. Daily duties include negotiating purchase and sales contracts, maintaining the position and forward books, monitoring futures, differentials, FX and freight, hedging price risk within approved limits, and coordinating logistics, finance and legal teams to ensure smooth shipment and collection. The ideal candidate brings at least five years of hands‑on experience in physical green‑coffee or a comparable soft‑commodity trading role, with a proven track record of Ethiopian origination and an active network of credible partners. They must possess deep knowledge of Ethiopian coffee regions, crop calendars, grades and export logistics, and be able to own physical positions, P&L reporting and forward‑book management. Proficiency in using coffee futures for hedging, solid understanding of commodity contracts, Incoterms and trade finance, strong analytical and Excel abilities, and excellent written and spoken communication are essential. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. A postgraduate qualification is considered an advantage, as is willingness to travel internationally to origins, suppliers, customers and industry events. The role offers a competitive salary with a performance‑based bonus, exposure to international markets and leading industry players, and clear pathways for career growth within a fast‑expanding trading team. If you are commercially driven, entrepreneurial and comfortable managing risk while collaborating across functions, we invite you to join our dynamic team. What the role asks for: - Minimum 5 years physical green coffee trading experience - Proven Ethiopian coffee origination with active exporter network - In‑depth knowledge of Ethiopian regions, crop calendars and grades - Ownership of physical positions, P&L and forward‑book reporting - Experience hedging physical exposure using coffee futures - Understanding of commodity contracts, Incoterms and trade finance - Established commercial relationships in Ethiopia/East Africa - Strong numerical, analytical and Excel skills - Clear written and verbal communication across cultures - Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance or supply chain - Postgraduate qualification (nice‑to‑have) - Willingness to travel internationally (nice‑to‑have)
