Senior iOS Software Engineer - Geneva

Proton, the privacy‑first company founded by CERN scientists, creates encrypted services such as Proton Mail, VPN, Drive, Pass and Calendar for millions worldwide. The Senior iOS Software Engineer will be based in the Geneva office and will join one of the product squads that deliver secure communication, encrypted storage, privacy‑preserving AI and collaborative tools on Apple platforms. In this role you will work hand‑in‑hand with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to design, implement and ship iOS features that meet Proton’s high standards for security and user experience. You will help shape what “great” looks like for privacy‑centric consumer products, maintain large codebases, ensure architectures are scalable and testable, and mentor teammates to raise the overall technical quality of the team. The position requires a proven track record of delivering high‑quality iOS applications, a deep focus on usability and product excellence, and solid expertise in building maintainable, scalable and testable mobile architectures. You should be comfortable navigating extensive codebases, collaborating across multiple groups, and guiding less‑experienced engineers. A strong grasp of performance tuning, concurrency and memory management on mobile devices is essential, as is the ability to contribute to ambiguous product and technical discussions. Experience with privacy, security, encryption, sync or offline‑first designs is a strong advantage, and familiarity with Rust is welcomed but not mandatory. The Geneva office offers daily in‑person collaboration, stock options, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, generous leave, catered meals, and covered transport costs, providing a supportive environment for rapid career growth.
