Software Engineer (m/f/d) - WFH

The position is for a Software Engineer at MF Group, a company under Riverty and part of the Bertelsmann Group. MF Group specializes in providing payment and financial services to Swiss retailers, covering a range of solutions from credit checks to digital payment options. The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining core financial services. This includes managing customer account balances, creating and distributing invoices, handling financial data flows, and working on credit card and digital payment products. The role involves defining and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements, from the analysis phase through to testing. The engineer will also develop secure, scalable software, applications, APIs, and workflows, and contribute to improving the software architecture. Monitoring production systems and collaborating with various teams in an agile environment are also key parts of the job. To qualify, candidates must have at least two years of professional experience in software development. They should be familiar with Object-Oriented and/or Functional programming paradigms and have a solid understanding of software engineering industry standards and practices. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to propose improvements are essential. Proficiency in Italian is preferred, while English is required for effective communication. Nice-to-have skills include knowledge of the Java technology stack, particularly the Spring ecosystem, and experience with scalable, modular applications. Familiarity with containerized architectures and an interest in the FinTech domain or Machine Learning technologies are also beneficial.
