Evident, a global leader in high‑performance microscopy headquartered in Tokyo with a strong European presence in Hamburg, develops and supplies advanced microscope systems for clinical diagnostics, research and industrial applications. The company is looking for a Field Service Engineer for the Iberian market who will be the on‑site technical specialist for its premium confocal and other imaging instruments across Spain and Portugal. In this role you will travel to customer laboratories to install and commission new microscopy platforms, perform preventive maintenance, calibrations and system upgrades, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, vacuum or software faults. You will also provide hands‑on training for scientists and technicians, act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts, keep detailed service records, manage parts inventory and travel plans, and collaborate with R&D, support and sales teams to resolve complex issues. Remote diagnostics and digital service tools are part of the daily workflow, as is feeding back recurring problems to improve products. The position requires a solid technical background: a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Mechatronics or a related discipline, and 2–5+ years of field‑service experience, preferably with confocal microscopy or other analytical laboratory equipment. Candidates must understand electronics, electromechanical systems, imaging optics and software setup, be comfortable reading schematics and technical manuals, and possess strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving and analytical abilities. Excellent communication skills, the capacity to work independently in remote or clean‑room environments, a willingness to travel up to 80 % of the time, a valid driver's licence, and fluency in Spanish together with good English are essential.
