Manufacturing Engineering Manager (CNC / Lean / Automation)

Gramian Consultancy, a boutique firm that matches IT and engineering talent with client needs, is recruiting a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for an established industrial manufacturer that produces high‑precision mechanical components and engineered production systems. The position will head a cross‑functional group that includes manufacturing engineering, design, CNC programming and industrialization, blending leadership with hands‑on technical oversight. In this role the manager will steer multidisciplinary teams, champion continuous‑improvement initiatives, and guide the industrialization of new products and the rollout of fresh production capabilities. Daily duties involve coordinating technical work across process engineering, applications and production, applying and refining Lean manufacturing methods, and overseeing the selection, purchase, installation and integration of new machinery and automation. The manager will also shape shop‑floor layouts, design production workflows, supervise CNC programming and machining‑process optimisation, and drive complex technical projects from planning through execution to boost productivity, quality, precision and capacity. Candidates must bring at least ten years of experience in industrial production or manufacturing engineering and a minimum of five years in a manufacturing or technical management capacity. Proven ability to implement and enhance Lean practices, hands‑on experience with machinery procurement and integration, and a track record of designing production workflows and layouts are essential. Technical competence in CNC programming and familiarity with precision‑machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines or grinders are required, as is fluency in both French and English. The position is a permanent, full‑time role based on‑site in the Jura canton of Switzerland, offering the chance to lead a high‑tech, precision‑focused environment within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
