Join Stryker's new product development team as an intern and dive into the world of trauma and extremities solutions. Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, creates orthopaedic, surgical and neuro‑technology products that improve patient outcomes. Your placement runs from March 2027 for six to nine months, based in Selzach, Switzerland, with the option to work hybrid or fully onsite. Each day you will collaborate with cross‑functional, international colleagues on projects that span idea generation, prototyping and testing. You will help design and develop bone plates, screws and external fixators, as well as the instruments that accompany them. Supporting engineers, you will draft technical and quality documentation required by CE and FDA regulations, and you will conduct literature reviews to translate clinical insights into development work. The role expects you to be enrolled in a technical or mechanical programme (HF, FH, university or ETH) and to bring a solid foundation in CAD. Fluency in English at a very good level is essential, while German language skills are considered a plus. Analytical thinking, a proactive attitude and strong problem‑solving abilities are highlighted as key personal attributes. Prior exposure to the medical‑device sector is advantageous but not mandatory. Beyond the core tasks, you will benefit from Stryker's reputation as a World's Best Workplace and from a compensation package of CHF 36 000 per year. Travel is limited to about ten percent of the time, and you will gain hands‑on experience with regulatory documentation and product testing. The hybrid/on‑site work model offers flexibility while keeping you close to the engineering environment and the broader Stryker community. What the role asks for: - Enrolled in technical/mechanical study programme (HF, FH, Uni, ETH) - Good CAD proficiency - Very good command of English - Good German language skills (nice‑to‑have) - Knowledge of FEA (nice‑to‑have) - Interest or first experience in medical‑device industry (nice‑to‑have)
