Senior MES Recipe Designer 80-100%

Lonza’s Drug Product Services division is looking for a Senior MES Recipe Designer to join its Stein, AG site in Switzerland. The company supplies the chemicals and technologies that enable the production of medicines, and this position will help shape digital manufacturing by turning detailed production needs into intelligent MES configurations that run on the shop floor. The day‑to‑day work involves building and fine‑tuning MES recipes, converting manufacturing specifications into digital workflows and batch records, and ensuring those recipes work smoothly with linked systems such as SAP, LIMS and various automation platforms. The role also requires writing, testing and maintaining MES code in TypeScript, monitoring data quality, guaranteeing compliance with quality rules, and spotting chances to streamline processes or data exchanges. Acting as the MES subject‑matter expert, the designer will support ongoing production, resolve system issues and help evolve the overall MES capability. Applicants must have a solid background configuring, developing or programming MES solutions rather than merely using them, and be comfortable with GMP‑regulated environments. Practical coding experience in any contemporary language and a keen interest in manufacturing software are essential, as is fluent English for global teamwork. The ideal candidate shows an analytical, proactive attitude and can translate production demands into compliant digital tools. Additional assets include familiarity with TypeScript, experience in Fill & Finish operations, an IT‑focused education, and either German proficiency or a willingness to learn it.
