The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) seeks a senior professional to act as MHPSS Specialist, delivering mental‑health and psychosocial assistance across its worldwide operations. In this role the incumbent will advise field delegations and programme teams on the design, rollout, monitoring and evaluation of mental‑health interventions. Tasks include conducting site visits, aligning activities with ICRC standards, creating and adapting technical manuals, and fostering the integration of psychosocial support into health and protection programmes. The specialist will also mentor staff through trainings, develop referral pathways, and represent the MHPSS portfolio in international technical forums. The candidate must hold a university degree in Psychiatry or Clinical Psychology and possess documented training or experience in humanitarian‑context MHPSS. A professional track of roughly twelve to fifteen years is expected, with at least two to five years of direct clinical work and five to ten years of hands‑on international humanitarian practice. A current licence to practise in the home country or country of residence is mandatory, as is fluency in spoken and written English. Additional assets include education in public health, familiarity with results‑based management or logical‑framework tools, and proficiency in French or other ICRC priority languages such as Arabic, Spanish or Russian. Experience working in detention or prison settings, prior ICRC field assignments, and knowledge of community‑based public‑health psychiatry with multidisciplinary teams are also valued. The contract runs for four years, full‑time (100 % workload), with a required rotation and immediate start. Successful applicants will join a diverse, inclusive team operating from Geneva while collaborating with colleagues worldwide.
