FP&A Analyst (100%)

MDPI is a global pioneer in open‑access scholarly publishing, operating more than 500 peer‑reviewed journals and supporting a worldwide academic community since 1996. The FP&A Analyst will join the FP&A and Corporate Finance team in Basel, working on‑site to turn financial data into strategic insights that guide the company's growth across its European and North‑American operations. On a daily basis the analyst will prepare monthly, quarterly and annual variance analyses that compare actual results with prior‑year performance and current forecasts. They will build and maintain financial models, update forecasts and design dashboards with Tableau or Power BI to monitor key performance indicators. The role also involves collecting and formatting financial reports according to MDPI standards, supporting the month‑end close together with AR and Accounting teams, and contributing to the consolidation of group financial statements. In addition, the analyst will carry out ad‑hoc analyses and assist new projects related to financial reporting and analysis. The position requires a bachelor's degree in finance, statistics or business economics, and at least two years of relevant experience in FP&A, controlling, reporting or corporate finance. Candidates must have proven experience with forecasting and variance analysis, and be highly proficient with Microsoft O365, Power BI and SQL as well as other financial analysis tools. Fluency in English at a C1 level and German at B1 level or higher is mandatory, together with strong analytical, problem‑solving and time‑management abilities that enable clear communication of insights to management.
