Risk & Insurance Manager

Sika, a worldwide leader in specialty chemicals, designs and manufactures bonding, sealing, damping, reinforcing and protective solutions for construction and industry. Within its newly created Group Risk Management team, the Risk & Insurance Manager will oversee the company’s insurance framework and help safeguard its global operations. The daily work involves spotting and evaluating risks, then translating those insights into insurance strategies and policy reviews. The manager will run the Group’s insurance programmes—covering liability, property and business interruption, cyber, directors‑and‑officers, transport and the captive—coordinating with insurers, brokers and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities also include streamlining insurance processes, handling claims, allocating insurance costs, negotiating renewals, and contributing to Sika’s Enterprise Risk Management and internal control systems while advising business units on risk matters. Candidates must hold a university degree in finance, business, economics, mathematics or administration and bring five to seven years of proven experience managing insurance programmes across all lines of business in a multinational manufacturing setting. They need solid knowledge of Swiss insurance regulations, a broad grasp of insurance solutions such as captives and alternative risk transfer, and fluency in German and English, both spoken and written. Strong analytical abilities, independent work style, proficiency with Microsoft applications and good communication and presentation skills are required. Additional training in insurance management, exposure to internal controls, risk management or audit, and knowledge of other languages are considered advantageous.
