Mediation Support Officer

The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is a private diplomatic organization that works to prevent, lessen and settle armed conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Based in Geneva, the Mediation Support Officer will join the Mediation Guidance and Training team within the Mediation Support and Policy directorate, helping to reinforce the practical assistance HD provides to its field operations. In this position you will deliver hands‑on backing to HD teams, including occasional deployments and rapid‑response support for new projects. You will design and run mediation training sessions and capacity‑building events for staff, partners and other stakeholders, and aid the Program Manager in creating guidance materials. The role also involves extracting lessons from inter‑state dialogues, producing knowledge outputs, and taking part in policy discussions both in Geneva and abroad. Organising high‑level meetings, internal workshops, and strategic gatherings will be part of the routine, as will experimenting with artificial‑intelligence tools to enhance mediation support. Representing HD at policy forums, networking events and donor briefings, as well as contributing to internal engagements, rounds out the duties. Candidates should bring five to ten years of experience in mediation support or peacebuilding, preferably in conflict‑affected or post‑conflict settings and with direct interaction with mediators and parties. An advanced university degree in a field such as international affairs or peace and conflict studies is required, together with proven ability to design and facilitate training. Experience using AI tools for mediation, strong English proficiency (minimum C1), and solid writing, analytical and organisational capabilities are essential. Additional language skills (
