Application Engineer (m/f/d)

BRUSA HyPower AG is looking for an Application Engineer to help customers adopt its power‑electronics solutions, including on‑board chargers, battery‑down‑converter units and grid‑interface converters. The position sits within a team that supports the company’s mission to advance e‑mobility and contribute positively to the environment. In this role you will act as the main technical liaison for clients, guiding project talks, start‑up procedures and fault‑finding tasks. Daily work involves troubleshooting at the system level across hardware, firmware and communication links, performing CAN‑bus analysis, and organizing both bench‑top and vehicle‑based testing to verify product reliability. You will also be responsible for producing detailed validation reports, application notes and other documentation that emphasize traceability and quality, while working closely with software, system and hardware engineers to drive ongoing improvements. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in electrical, automotive or mechatronic engineering and brings three to five years of experience in automotive or power‑electronics environments. A solid grasp of power‑electronics architecture, automotive networking standards such as CAN or J1939, and high‑voltage systems is required. Practical skills in debugging, root‑cause analysis, lab measurements and test execution are essential, as are strong analytical abilities and effective communication across functions. Familiarity with electric‑vehicle powertrain layouts, charging infrastructure, and tools like CANalyzer or CANoe is considered a plus.
