Temenos Configuration Specialist - Payments

Capco is a global technology and business consultancy that helps financial‑services clients navigate change. As a Temenos Configuration Specialist, Payments you will join a team delivering a complex core‑banking and payments transformation for a leading Swiss financial institution, focusing on the functional configuration, integration, testing and rollout of Temenos Payments, Payments Hub and related Temenos Transact components. In this role you will design and set up payment products, processing rules, workflows, routing, fees, cut‑off times, limits and exception handling inside Temenos. You will turn business and operational needs into functional designs, configuration workbooks and parameter specifications that match the target architecture. Your day will include fit‑gap and impact analyses, supporting both inbound and outbound payment flows, domestic, SEPA, cross‑border, high‑value, batch and instant‑payment scenarios, as well as handling returns, rejects and investigations. You will work closely with architects and integration teams on interfaces to digital channels, payment networks, sanctions, fraud controls, clearing, settlement, general‑ledger and reconciliation platforms. You will also define test scenarios, assist during system‑integration, user‑acceptance and regression testing, analyse defects, coordinate remediation, and help with release preparation, migration, cut‑over, hyper‑care and the creation of runbooks and support documentation. Facilitating workshops with product owners, operations, analysts, developers and control functions, and ensuring configuration governance and knowledge transfer are also part of the daily routine. The position requires at least seven years of experience in banking technology, core banking or payments transformation, with a strong hands‑on background in configuration and implementation. You must have a minimum of four years of practical Temenos experience, ideally with Temenos Transact and Temenos Payments/Payments Hub, and have contributed to at least two major implementation, upgrade or transformation programmes. A solid functional understanding of the full payment lifecycle in retail, corporate or private‑banking settings is essential, as is proven ability to configure and troubleshoot Temenos payment products, parameters, workflows, routing logic, fees, limits, cut‑offs, exception handling and settlement rules. You need deep knowledge of ISO 20022, SEPA, SWIFT/CBPR+, instant‑payment and RTGS concepts, as well as working knowledge of APIs, message and file interfaces, data mapping, batch processing, reconciliation and accounting integration. Experience in complex banking programmes with many stakeholders, structured problem‑solving skills and comfort working in agile or hybrid delivery environments are also mandatory.
